Our weight loss program is a straight forward way to successfully "Lose Weight & Be Healthy".
Developed and supervised by our physician, Scott C. Mitchell, M.D., our program is rooted in the basic science of weight loss and weight gain. Recent statistics from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics indicate that 67 percent of American adults are overweight or obese, up 25% since 1980. Many of our patients have expressed frustration from other programs they have tried in the past due to being told simply to reduce their calories without medical help which can be both difficult and overwhelming. We view being overweight as a disease and go about treating as we would a diabetic of hypersensitive person, with a suitable diet and medical program. We are going to prescribe the healthiest treatment plan that will give YOU the best results.
Our weight loss program is designed for the patient who feels unable to achieve or maintain an ideal body weight with efforts of other programs. Most of all our program is not just a prescription therapy, but an interactive prorgram that takes into consideration each individual patient and includes these essential components:
- Counseling, the underlying success factor
- Moderate exercise
- Prescription therapy
One on one visits weekly that include nutritional counseling coupled with the accountability factor, high quality service and care make up the first component of our program.
The second component is moderate exercise. It is a well known fact that a higher percentage of muscle will increase the body's metabolic rate. We encourage our patients to engage in some form of light to moderate exercise through the use of our Weight Loss Guide Book.
The final component is medication, which is combined with the concern and follow up of our committed physician.
